My Ideal Client

You — or your child — may think differently, communicate differently, and experience the world differently. That's not a problem to fix. That's a person to know. I work with neurodivergent children, teens, and individuals navigating life with autism, ADHD, or OCD. Many arrive feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or unsure how to bridge the gap between their inner world and the world around them. With over 10 years of community-based experience — I'm here to meet you exactly where you are.

My Approach to Helping

My approach is casual, collaborative, and expressive-arts friendly. Therapy here doesn't have to look like talking — it can look like drawing, exploring a special interest, or just being. I draw from DBT and the latest evidence-based tools to help build self-confidence, social skills, and the ability to sit with life's grey areas. We are all doing our best — and we try to do better every day. If you're looking for a space that truly fits how you or your child moves through the world, I'd love to be part of building it together. You don't have to fit the mold here.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

If this is your first experience with counseling, it can be daunting to sit in a room with a stranger. My goal is to create a space that feels not only safe but powerful for the client. Sessions are collaborative with an emphasis on acknowledging current hurt while building skills to increase life satisfaction and emotional regulation. While goal-oriented, the treatment planning process encourages and welcomes creativity. I believe the therapeutic space should invite conversation, but not rely on it. I offer a casual, collaborative process to create a therapeutic space as unique as you, with an emphasis on building self-confidence and social skills.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

I have participated in DBT as both a client and a facilitator with 4 years of experience teaching DBT-based curriculum to youth and teens. I am well-versed in common DBT counseling practices and enjoy bringing the life-saving skills of DBT to an accessible format for all.

  • Experiential External link

Counseling can be conversational, but should not rely on conversation. With prior experience serving youth and teens, turning complex therapeutic strategies into kid-oriented "play", is my passion. Bringing fidgets, basic art supplies, and games to the therapeutic space allows for a counseling space as unique as each client.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Child or Adolescent Issues External link

I have almost 3 years of experience working with children and families in the judicial system and two years working with children in subacute psychiatric residential care. I am familiar with the Oregon child welfare system and working with at-risk youth.

  • Self-Harming External link

My prior experience working in subacute psychiatric care has provided me with education on safety planning and harm reduction, along with resiliency to remain calm in crisis situations. I am familiar with various forms of self-harming and was previously certified in Oregon Intervention Systems (OIS).

  • Autism External link

I have 5 years of experience working with neurodivergent youth in both medical and community-based settings. I am familiar with a variety of de-escalation and emotional regulation techniques, as well as common stimming behaviors. I aim to create a sensory-friendly space that offers choices, lowers expectations, and encourages the simple act of being by providing clients with games, fidgets, and drawing supplies.

  • ADHD External link

As someone with both a diagnosis and a lifetime of experience with ADHD, I understand the mental blocks, the fatigue, the racing, but also foggy thought trails. Building routine and social skills while also increasing distress tolerance for when things go awry is second nature, and helping others find a way to live differently so they can continue to think differently is my passion.

  • Personality Disorders External link

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) challenges black-and-white thinking by encouraging comfort in the "grey" areas. We are doing our best AND we try to do better every day. Often, past behaviors and thought patterns follow us into adulthood, where they no longer serve us or may even hinder us. After identifying your goals, we will work on reframing cognitive distortions and building coping skills. I have almost 5 years of experience teaching DBT-based skills to others using play and games.
