My Ideal Client

Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck. Some are working through trauma, grief, or shame; others are searching for confidence, compassion, or deeper meaning. Together, we uncover what you want for yourself, gently explore what gets in the way, and create pathways toward clarity, resilience, and connection.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed Naturopathic Doctor with advanced training in biofeedback, mindfulness-based approaches, and the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), a somatic psychotherapy modality. My work is additionally informed by polyvagal theory, attachment theory, and psychodynamic approaches. My style is relational and focused on cultivating present moment awareness (focusing on the here and now of the moment). I work with clients to notice the survival patterns that once helped them adapt but may now get in the way of what they most want for themselves. I believe there are no “bad” parts of ourselves, rather, that we have a wisdom in the way that we have adapted to our life circumstances. In sessions, we gently explore these patterns, bringing curiosity, compassion, and awareness, while also creating space for new ways of thinking, feeling, and being to naturally emerge.

More About the People I Treat

I enjoy working with folks of all backgrounds and orientations. I especially enjoy working with siblings of individuals with disabilities (I am a sibling myself!) and people who experienced significant childhood neglect. As the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, I additionally feel passionate about working with folks with historical and intergenerational trauma. I am a NARM Master Practitioner and a certified biofeedback therapist through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Relational  External link

NARM is relational in that it sees the therapeutic connection itself as part of the healing. Within this safe and supportive space, we can explore old survival patterns and practice new ways of relating. Over time, this strengthens your capacity for authenticity, trust, and connection both inside and outside of therapy.

  • Holistic External link

I am trained as a naturopathic physician which allows me to have a holistic (mind-body) understanding of both how to approach your symptoms and approach your healing from a comprehensive point of view.

  • Biofeedback External link

I am trained in biofeedback through the BCIA (Biofeedback Certification International Alliance) and focus my practice on functional breathing and stress relieving techniques to increase mindfulness and resilience.

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

In NARM, “somatic” doesn’t mean physical touch or bodywork. Instead, it refers to paying attention to your inner, felt experience. The process invites slowing down, listening closely, and trusting your own innate wisdom as a guide toward greater wholeness. Through this practice, what you understand in your mind can begin to align with what you feel in your body, allowing for deeper integration and healing.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

Rather than treating anxiety as a symptom to be fixed, I work with anxiety through the lens of exploring underlying unresolved emotions, unmet needs, or past survival strategies that are contributing to current anxious symptoms.

  • Depression External link

I view depression is not a flaw but a survival strategy that once helped you cope with disconnection or overwhelm. While protective in the past, these patterns can now leave you feeling stuck or disconnected. In therapy, we explore them with curiosity and compassion, honoring their wisdom while creating space for new ways of being—supporting greater vitality, resilience, and connection.

  • PTSD External link

My practice focuses on complex/developmental trauma (rather than shock trauma). Shock trauma results from a single, acute event like a car accident, causing immediate overwhelming stress responses. In contrast, complex trauma stems from prolonged and repeated exposure to traumatic events, often interpersonal such as abuse, neglect, or chronic misattunement (often in childhood) leading to persistent difficulties with emotional regulation, self-esteem, and relationships.

  • Spirituality External link

A large aspect of my work focuses on the capacity for connection- to self, others and the non-human world. Often times, as we feel more aliveness and connection within ourselves, a spiritual sense of interconnectedness emerges through this process.

  • Self-Esteem External link

I generally hold self-esteem challenges as patterns that formed when our early needs for connection or safety weren’t fully met. These patterns may show up as self-criticism, shame, or difficulty feeling worthy. In therapy, we explore these patterns with compassion, honoring how they once helped you cope, while creating space for a more authentic sense of confidence, self-acceptance, and connection to who you truly are.
