My Ideal Client

I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of issues. I like to help people who are feeling low or hopeless and those who are experiencing fear and anxiety about a number of issues. I work with couples who are having difficulty expressing their emotions, wants, and needs in a way in which they feel understood and seen by one another. I have experience working with queer individuals and couples. I have experience working with non-monogamy and alternative relationship dynamics.

My Background and Approach

I primarily use a combination of CBT and ACT in my work. I explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors as they are interconnected. I work to establish skills which will help you cope with unhelpful thought patterns and belief systems. I believe that every person is capable of knowing and expressing their true selves. I believe in the power of personal values which drive our thoughts, feelings, and actions. I have specialized training in human sexuality, queer issues, and gender issues. I enjoy working with individuals and couples who are exploring their sexuality or enhancing their sexual experiences. In my work with couples, I will help you and your partner come to understand and empathize with each other through reflective listening and emotional processing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that each person is unique and carries a particular set of values and beliefs. I believe that each person has the right to live authentically as they are. I believe that distorted or unhelpful beliefs sometimes hinder the inherent human ability to grow and heal. Understanding someone's perspective and promoting acceptance are incredibly important in my work. I identify as queer and feminine. I strongly believe that sexuality is a vital part of the human experience and should be celebrated. I provide a safe space for discussing sexual interests, preferences, and relationships. I also identify as disabled and have experience navigating chronic illness and/or health related concerns. I have experience working with anger management and violent/aggressive behavior. I work part time for an abuse intervention organization called Allies in Change. I have training in high conflict relationship. I also have training in men's issues.
