My Background
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the fields of social services, social work, and therapy. My professional background includes working with refugees and immigrants in resettlement agencies, as well as providing community- and school-based mental health services to youth in elementary and high school settings.
I am trained and certified in working with children who have experienced abuse and trauma, and I am also certified in supporting youth and families involved in the foster care system. These experiences have shaped my trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach to care.
I am trained in a variety of evidence-based and expressive therapeutic modalities and use an eclectic approach, thoughtfully integrating modalities to best meet each client’s unique needs.
My therapeutic style is collaborative and client-centered. I work alongside you to identify goals, build skills, and honor your strengths, values, and lived experiences.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you with respect, care, and understanding. I recognize how meaningful it can be to work with a therapist who shares or deeply understands your identity, cultural background, or lived experiences—someone who truly “gets it.” For this reason, I bring my whole self into this work and strive to offer therapy that honors culture, identity, and the fullness of who you are.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I create a safe, trauma-informed space where you can openly explore your thoughts and emotions while also developing practical tools and skills to support healing and growth.
I believe therapy should feel supportive and empowering—not clinical, distant, or disconnected.
I enjoy working with BIPOC teens, individuals, and families, supporting them in building resilience, strengthening self-awareness, and navigating life’s challenges in ways that feel authentic and culturally grounded.
