My Ideal Client

I tend to work with people who have come to a point in life when things start to feel stuck. Maybe you're dealing with disappointment, grief, loss, anxiety, or a difficult transition. I work with individuals dealing with relationship difficulties and those who need a safe space to work through the complexities of day-to-day life. I work with people to regain a sense of agency in their lives, offering empathetic support and understanding along the way.

My Background and Approach

I recently graduated with my Master of Arts in Counseling from Western Seminary here in Portland. I have experience working with a wide variety of individuals, dealing with issues ranging from trauma to depression to career difficulties. I operate from an existential-humanistic lens, but also draw from other theoretical perspectives as well. Essentially, I enjoy helping people finding meaning and purpose in their day-to-day lives, and helping clients regain a sense of agency when things start to feel out of control. I believe that breaking free from patterns that hold us back requires empathy and understanding, and it is my goal to help my clients feel like people to be understood, not problems to be solved. I have experience working with young adults and teens, groups, and individuals working through mental health concerns. I work collaboratively with my clients to provide the best therapy experience possible, and value and encourage feedback to make counseling a team effort.

My Values as a Therapist

Above all, I value the importance of your voice in therapy. This is a space for you to feel heard and understood, and you can anticipate that I will do my best to understand you and the experiences that have brought you to this point. I am so happy that you are considering counseling at this point, and want to acknowledge the courage that requires. You've taken an important first step, and I would be honored to accompany you on this next phase of your journey towards improved mental and emotional wellbeing.
