My Approach to Helping

Our work will help you feel more seen, brings clarity, feeling more grounded, gaining stability, increase resiliency, and feel more connected to yourself and others. I primarily work from a foundation of psychodynamic therapy with systemic lens and interweaving somatic techniques. Clients are encouraged to express their thoughts freely, without fear of judgment or censorship. My therapeutic approach focuses on the individual as a whole, rather than solely on their diagnoses, with the goal of fostering the well-being and growth.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I grew up oscillating between US and Japan growing up. I identify as somewhere in-between Japanese and Japanese American (Liminality best describe my lived experience), I use two lens in dialogue to research on self and human flourishing. I hope to make difficult depth counseling theories to be more accessible to diverse cultural contexts and to support their thriving. I am interested in working with Sacred moral injury, religious trauma, identity developments and narrative- story work in different cultural contexts. I feel passionate about destigmatizing counseling and I believe everybody would benefit from it. ! My theoretical orientations are influenced by Lacanian psychoanalysis, Ignacio Martín-Baró, Toyohiko Kagawa and W.E.B Du Bois.
