My Ideal Client

I work with children, families, couples and individuals who are hoping to find new ways to move towards connection, cope through life transitions, or heal from past hurt. I'm passionate about supporting individuals, couples and families who are navigating relationship challenges, grief and loss, faith and spirituality, emerging adulthood, and clients who have ADHD, SPD, or Autism.

How I Can Help You

I believe that we all move towards wholeness when we have the safety and understanding we need to show up fully for ourselves and in relationship. My style is warm, non-judgmental, present, and hopeful. I want to offer you a space where you can feel seen and un-alone as you navigate life’s complexities, explore more intimately the systems (relational, societal, cultural, political, environmental, religious, etc.) that impact you, interrupt cyclical patterns you may feel stuck in, and find new movement towards a deeper sense of connection with and compassion for yourself and the humans and non-humans in your life and community.

My Values as a Therapist

My approach is present and human; I believe that reparative relational experiences are an intrinsic part of how we heal past wounds and repair relationships. I draw from Somatic Mindfulness, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and biophilic theories. My work is also influenced by interpersonal neurobiology and how trauma shows up in our body from day to day. I view care work as advocacy and strive to meet each person’s lived experience and wisdom with cultural humility and curiosity. I am continually prioritizing my own education and integration of anti-racist, environmental justice, and disability justice frameworks into my practice.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Child or Adolescent Issues External link

I have worked for a number of years with children and youth and their caregivers facing a wide range of co-occuring mental health and neuro-developmental challenges; first in a public education setting, and for the past two and a half years as a Child and Family Therapist. I especially focus on family ecology, the nervous system, sensory and body awareness, the parent child relationship, co-regulation, positive parenting strategies, and draw from Emotionally Focused Family Therapy theories.

  • Spirituality External link

I grew up deep in the bible belt and spent decades grieving, evaluating, de-constructing, and eventually meeting with compassion a faith housed within a nuanced religious system. This lived experience continues to inform my own care for supporting others who have been impacted by Christianity, are seeking to more fully understand their own beliefs, or who simply want someone to walk beside them who understands and can honor and hold the complexities and culture of their faith experience.
