My Approach to Helping
My approach to therapy is solution focused, relational and affirming. I strive to be culturally competent, and inclusive of all ways of being. I work from a compassionate and collaborative, strength-based approach, and capitalize on what works for you. I view the therapeutic process as an opportunity for us to work together to identify and address barriers in your life. My job is to work with you through listening closely to your experiences, help you identify what has and has not been working and then find solutions and coping skills that will help you grow beyond these barriers. Together we will find what best fits you.
The process of living an authentic self can be a difficult journey but one that is never regretted.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My specialty is working with the LGBTQ community. I'm a gender-affirming therapist with experience working with individuals who identify as Transgender, Non-binary, gender queer, Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, or questioning. I am WPATH certified follow the their standards of care and provide assessments and letters for gender affirming care. I provide support to families to find conflict resolution, couples needing help through transition, coming out, or simply reconnecting . I hold a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology and continue to train and attend conferences to keep up to date with new modalities and with my community.
