My Ideal Client

Maybe you grew up learning how to be good, selfless, high-achieving, or “fine” no matter what was happening underneath. I work with individuals and couples navigating religious trauma, purity culture, family-of-origin dynamics, anxiety, body image concerns, and eating disorders. Many of my clients are deeply self-aware yet still feel stuck in shame, perfectionism, or painful relationship patterns.

My Approach to Helping

Sessions with me are engaging, collaborative, and authentic. I’m excited when you nail a new recipe and want to hear about your fun weekend plans. I don’t expect you to be a robot, and neither am I. During session, I often slow things down and pay attention to what’s happening in the moment and explore past experiences. I’m less interested in quick fixes and more curious about what’s underneath; understanding it and connecting the dots. Therapy is vulnerable. I’ve been on both sides of the couch and know it works best when the fit feels right, and you can be yourself. Consider this an invitation to trust your gut.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe relationships shape so much of how we experience ourselves and the world around us. The ways we learned to connect, protect ourselves, communicate, or stay emotionally safe often begin long before we realize it. Many of my clients come from environments where they learned to prioritize being “good," whether through family dynamics, religious spaces, perfectionism, or high-pressure expectations. And many couples and families I work with are unpacking generational patterns. My goal is to create a space that feels human. You’re allowed to laugh in therapy, swear in therapy, not know how you feel yet, and bring your full self into the room. Outside of work, you’ll find me listening to a podcast, reading a thriller, wandering Trader Joe’s, or hanging out with my Great Dane, Harley.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

Relationships matter deeply to us. And when they’re not going well, it can be all-consuming. You may be eager to change something (anything) but unsure what will actually work. And then you wonder, “Is it really bad enough to go to therapy?” You and your partner may be stuck in the same arguments, misunderstandings, or patterns that seem to repeat. Sometimes about the laundry, sometimes about who initiates intimacy. I encourage partners to access the feelings driving their behavior.

  • Eating Disorder External link

Specializing in athletes, ex-athletes, or high-achievers healing from rigid food and exercise rules. Explore a more respectful relationship with your body. May include collaboration with your PCP and/or nutritionist.

  • Spirituality External link

When faith environments involve fear, control, or conditional belonging, the impact can linger long after belief changes. Religious trauma and deconstruction often touch identity, trust, relationships, sexuality and your sense of meaning. This may also include high-control political groups.
