My Background and Approach
I come to this work with over a decade of social service experience, a bachelor's in environmental sociology, and dedication to grow through chronic pain and trauma. I find that cultivating collaborative therapeutic relationships rooted in honesty and shared humanity is most effective. My goal is to meet you where you are and walk with you towards the change you want in your life. I believe you can heal with a safe enough container to explore new perspectives, attend to your experience, and allow your bodymind to repattern in the ways it already knows how. My approach to clinical social work rests on the understanding that mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health are not separate, and individual and collective wellbeing are deeply intertwined. I use a responsive combination of attachment-oriented, emotion-focused, and body-based methods. I'm grounded in emerging neuroscience and nondual wisdom traditions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that regardless of past experience, humans are wired for healing and repair. We all have capacity for connection and transformation. We adapt to survive, and we can work to transform the wounds we carry. I feel strongly about centering accessibility, social justice, integrity, and dignity in my work. While I am no expert in anti-oppressive practice, I am committed to learning and unlearning, depathologizing mental health, and stewarding liberation. I'm aware that my intersectional identities as a white, cisfemme, queer, neurodivergent, often able-bodied person will interact with yours and are useful to name. Whatever identities you hold, you are welcome here. Alongside this work, I'm a gardener, culinary creative, musician, animal whisperer, and outdoor frolicker. My favorite album is Swamp Ophelia by the Indigo Girls. I find joy healing through connection to land and seasonal cycles.
