My Ideal Client

You are a creative, alternative, rebel or world-changer who tends to live an unconventional, off-the-beaten-path life. Your history of personal or ancestral trauma, difficult life experiences, or internalization of oppressive mainstream culture have you stuck in repeating cycles, unable to express your full gifts. But you're ready to clear those blocks, to know yourself in a new way, and to do the brave and vulnerable work of empowering yourself to be exactly who you are.

My Background

I have been driven to understand the truth of human consciousness from an early age. Following nearly two decades of practice and training in a mix of mindfulness and nature connection pathways, I fulfilled a long-time dream of completing my Master of Arts in Process Oriented Facilitation and Conflict Studies from The Processwork Institute, where I interned as a counselor at the Rivers Way Training Clinic. My non-pathologizing practice is informed by body and earth with multi-dimensional training, including: Certified in Client Centered Hypnotherapy; Certified Yoga Instructor since 2007; Mindful Yoga Therapy for Veterans Coping with PTSD training, 2012; Licensed Massage Therapist since 2012; 200hr Certificate in Foot Reflexology; 40hrs of training in The Feldenkrais Method; countless hours of improvisational dance and martial arts training/teaching; Permaculture Certificate; and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies. I am a Certified Horticultural Therapist.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

My goal is for you to feel deeply seen and heard in the truth of who you are, and to support you in owning the power of your unique gifts. I believe that our greatest challenges, including conflicts, addictions, traumas, and physical pains, hold the keys to our greatest strengths. I utilize process-oriented, trauma-informed methods to unlock the energy wrapped up in your old, outdated stories and help you apply that energy to your authentic expression in life. My own path of seeking has been off the beaten trail and I excel at holding space for those who have felt unusual, different, misunderstood, or like an outsider. I will help you claim your own style and befriend—or vanquish—the inner critic. Bring your dreams, your relationship issues, your traumas and pains; leave feeling free, centered, and vibrant. Talk, movement, meditation, even storytelling and play are all on the table. I offer a broad sliding scale to increase accessibility. Contact me for a free consultation.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EcoTherapy External link

I believe that true healing comes from recognizing our connection as living beings who evolved from, and are completely interdependent with, the Earth. Healing our sense of displacement and pain at losing our daily knowledge of Earth-as-home is often a key component to working with depression, anxiety, fear, and even trauma. I work with people both in the office and outdoors.

  • Somatic Therapy (Body Centered) External link

As a bodyworker with over twenty years of somatic experience, everything I do is rooted in the intelligence and wisdom of the body. I utilize Processwork methods of exploring body symptoms and chronic pains and illnesses as part of your life path, uncovering the wisdom and insight contained within your body experience.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

As a Processworker, I'm interested in your experience of awareness at the deepest level. I use process oriented techniques as well as strategies from my decades of mindfulness practice and decade as a yoga instructor to help you reflect on the reality of each moment in a way which serves your ongoing healing and growth.

  • Biofeedback External link

Your body is constantly sending signals to your brain about levels of internal stress and safety. I used HeartMath biofeedback techniques to help you become conscious of the ways your thoughts and emotions influence your physiology, and help you develop skills and strategies to intentionally shift your physiological state, essentially training your body and brain to work together for greater coherence and well-being.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Self-Esteem External link

I help clients discover and affirm the deepest truths of who they are. You may have internalized critics or abusers from your family or society, or you may have had adverse experiences which cause you to doubt your self-worth. You may also have gifts and capacities which don't fit into a mainstream mold, causing you to doubt your own value rather than question the mold itself.

  • PTSD External link

I have worked long-term with clients who experience complex PTSD and have seen significant results in an increased sense of safety, self-esteem, self-regulation, and freedom from internalized oppression. My framework includes historical trauma and systemic oppression as sources of trauma and opportunities for cultural and personal healing.

  • Depression External link

Depression can feel like you're weighed down, stuck at the bottom of a well, living a life devoid of meaning, or lost in a fog. It can feel ever-present, or like a constant lurking possibility. However it shows up for you is unique, and should be treated as such. I closely follow your process to help you integrate and begin to resolve your experience with awareness and personal agency.
