My Ideal Client

Do you love parenting but find that anxiety, depression, and/or shame get in the way of truly enjoying your children? Are you struggling to co-parent effectively and peacefully with your co-parent(s)? In the process of becoming a parent and wanting to identify and explore what raising a child means to you? Let's sit down and explore these big things together.

How I Can Help You

When I became a parent I learned first-hand how life-altering this transition can be. How anxious or depressed thoughts can make it difficult or impossible to feel present and joyful with your children. I’ve experienced and seen how even the most seemingly aligned and committed relationships can be rocked by the transition into co-parenthood. My experience as a child and family therapist, supporting foster and adoptive parents allowed me to witness the beautiful ways that people parent. I specialize in supporting people with: Parenting, Pregnancy & Postpartum, Queer Family Formation, Adoption & Foster Care

Why I Became a Therapist

I came to therapy after years of working as a full-time nanny and childcare provider. Being so closely involved in the lives of different parents and children gave me a deep understanding that there is no one perfect way to raise kids. After graduate school I worked as a Child & Family Therapist in school and outpatient settings. I spent several years working with adolescents in the foster care system, and supporting foster parents. I spent the last two years providing therapy to adults in a medical setting. I use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in my work. My style is relational, trauma-informed and focused, and humorous whenever possible. I work from an intersectional and anti-oppressive lens. I grew up in southwestern Colorado and lived in Nashville, Washington, DC, New York City, and Denver before settling in Portland where I have lived for just over a decade.
