My Ideal Client

I primarily work with individuals struggling with eating disorders, anxiety, and trauma related concerns.

My Approach to Helping

I believe pain can be our greatest ally. We achieve transformation not by pushing away painful experiences, but by opening up to our suffering from a place of compassion. I believe we all possess an innate capacity for healing, for personal revolution. It can be a very difficult process, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Together we'll work to develop holistic strategies to help you achieve greater balance so you can fully engage in the work you feel called to do in this world. As a holistic practitioner I often integrate yoga, mindfulness, and meditation work into sessions as I believe that movement, breath, and focused attention can deepen our internal capacity for self-healing. I also have a background in the arts and love to incorporate art-based practices into healing work when appropriate.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Yoga Instructor with over 12 years of experience working in community mental health clinics, hospital emergency departments, and university settings. I earned my BFA at NYU and my MSW from Hunter College, NYC. My clinical background is rooted in solution-focused, evidenced-based therapies including CBT and ACT. I am particularly passionate about trauma recovery work and am currently working toward EMDR certification. In addition to working with trauma survivors I have a particular interest in eating disorder recovery work. With over 15 years of recovery under my belt I know first hand how difficult this process can be. If you're struggling with an eating disorder please know you’re not alone. I’d love to support you in your recovery any way I can.
