My Ideal Client

Are you feeling crippled with anxious thoughts, and the fear of your next anxiety attack looming around the corner? Have you experienced life altering trauma which you struggle to move past? Have you found that confiding in friends isn’t enough anymore? In my practice, I strive to help my clients find ways to confront their anxiety and trauma triggers in a way that strips them of their power, and allows you to thrive in your life, free from the confines of fear.

My Approach to Helping

I believe that we all have innate strengths that we can build upon in our journey to better mental health. Rather than fixating on what is outside of our sphere of control, I guide my clients through a journey toward peace that comes from finding the ability to let go of external pressures, and use what is with in us to guide us through life. I use an ACT approach, as well as exposure therapy, equine facilitated therapy, CBT, strengths based, and EMDR to assist my clients in letting go of what they can’t control, and working to become their best selves, no longer trapped by anxiety and trauma triggers. I received my Graduate Degree in Counseling Psychology from Lewis and Clark College in 2019. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Portland State University in 2011. I have worked with those experiencing severe and persistent mental illness, trauma, anxiety, and depression since graduating with my Master’s.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that we are all capable of finding self love, and confidence. That we all have the ability to live a unique, and whole experience by addressing our fears, anxieties and triggers head on, and accepting what is outside of our control. The path to mental health does not have to be paved with re-occurring traumas, and tearful sessions, but empowering, educational, and even fun, outside the box therapeutic approaches. I offer equine therapy at a facility in Wilsonville, Oregon where clients learn about horsemanship, learn to ride, and learn to trust, build confidence, learn to regulate their emotions, and to form trusting bonds, while overcoming fears.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Adjustment Disorder External link

I have worked with many clients who are struggling to adapt to major life changes. I primarily use an ACT approach to help clients settle in to the inherent unknown associated with change, while supporting them through complex emotions that come with new life phases.

  • Anxiety External link

I bring a lot of myself into my work with clients who experience anxiety, and take various treatment approaches, ranging from ACT to exposure therapy.

  • PTSD External link

I’ve spent a large part of my career working with those experiencing PTSD. The fear that comes with trauma can be crippling at times, and learning to carry that fear with you into the unknown sometimes feels impossible. I work with my clients to navigate life with their trauma in tow, and to build strength from places of trial.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

Marriage takes work. That’s one thing we know for certain. Learning to navigate another persons needs, emotions, the ways that they move through life and communicate can be really difficult. I believe that through solid communication, and staying firmly rooted in our sphere of control, healthy relationships will emerge. I work with couples, and individuals to navigate communication issues, and to shed light on individuals roles in the problems at hand.
