My individual clients often face difficulties related to complex trauma, family estrangement (including low- or no-contact relationships), and low self-esteem. I also help couples improve communication, deepen emotional intimacy, and navigate nontraditional relationship structures including ethical non-monogamy and polyamory. Many of my clients are neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, or BIPOC. I welcome anyone seeking a collaborative, affirming space to explore challenges and discover more about themselves.
Specialties
During my graduate internship, I obtained over half of my required clinical hours working with couples. My standard approach to working with couples is to use Nonviolent Communication to help each partner share their experience without blame or fear. Therapy then often transitions into experiential techniques so that each partner can identify and share difficult emotions in a supportive environment.
Specialties
I believe that building self-esteem is vital to making choices with integrity, improving communication, building connection, and living authentically. My therapeutic approach integrates building self-esteem no matter what a client brings to therapy. I use a tool called the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale to ensure that the work I do with all my clients is resulting in better self-esteem.
As a Marriage and Family Therapy associate, I have specialized training in Family Systems Therapy. Family Systems Therapy approaches family conflict with the idea that every member of a family shares responsibility for creating and then resolving conflict. I specialize in helping family members communicate directly, express emotions safely, and build a nurturing environment that supports the health of all family members.
