My Ideal Client

I welcome, affirm, and celebrate neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ identities! I am interested in working with individuals fourteen and older who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, school/work stress, self-esteem challenges, religious deconstruction and/or religious trauma, self-harm, and/or LGBTQIA+ concerns. As a graduate student, I can provide services at a low-cost sliding-scale rate.

My Approach to Helping

The process of beginning counseling can be intimidating. I am here to help, and honor your decision to take this step towards caring for yourself! I know from lived experience the healing and growth that can result from the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you can come as you are: bringing your doubts, fears, grief, and joy with you, and feeling through them without fear of judgment. I align with both a person-in-environment and an anti-oppressive approach. I also align with a strengths-based approach, meaning that I believe everyone has the ability and inner wisdom to thrive (not just survive), even in the face of adversity. I will follow your lead with what you are hoping to receive from therapy! I utilize a variety of evidence-based modalities depending on client needs, including narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and somatic experiencing.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am currently a graduate student at the University of Saint Mary and am accepting clients at Creative Soul Therapy under the supervision of McKenzie Brock, LCSW. When I am not at work, I enjoy reading a good book, arts & crafts, fostering cats, or spending time with my partner and our family of two cats and two hedgehogs. I value participating regularly in advocacy surrounding suicide prevention and immigrant rights.
