My Ideal Client

I have spent my career specializing in helping clients heal attachment wounds and intimacy deficits, while also separating sexual desire from internalized shame. I work with adults and teens to manage sexual preoccupation, overcome sex and porn addictions, and address anger management needs through empathetic, structured, and judgment-free care. More recently, I’ve developed a passion for supporting clients and couples exploring polyamory, ENM, and kink communities.

My Approach to Helping

My clinical approach is based on attachment theory, meaning I work within the relationship to help clients feel safe enough to grow in the uncomfortable. I also utilize cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral, and schema therapies as a way for my clients to practice new skills to make effective, forward-moving changes. Each individual's therapeutic process is unique and personal, as we are dynamic and complicated beings. Therefore, it is important to have someone you trust walk with you as you take your next steps.

Why I Became a Therapist

I believe that we all deserve compassion and understanding for the pieces of us that make us fallible and human yet so often we hold these secrets in isolation, out of fear of exposing our rawness to the world. Therefore, I found myself specializing working with clients who hold the highest level of shame and secrecy in hopes to demonstrate that everyone is deserving of an nonjudgmental and safe place to feel at ease in sharing their realness in order to uncover internal motivations for making positive change. I welcome all people, regardless of race, sex or gender. I hope that you find my casual, structured and compassionate approach to be a good place to start your healing journey.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Attachment Theory External link

I view my practice through an attachment theory lens, as I recognize the powerful impact our childhood attachments have on our current relationships and behaviors. Therefore, I use the relationship between myself and the client as the basis for creating a safe place to explore healing childhood wounds and generalizing that healing to other important relationships in our lives.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

I have been trained in DBT skill building through the Portland DBT Institute. I utilize this modality throughout my practice with all types of clients, as I find it a very practical tool for living a healthy life.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Sexual Addiction External link

I have 10 years experience working with clients with sexual preoccupation, sexual/porn addictions and other sexual behavior issues. I utilize DBT and CBT approaches to managing these behavioral needs, focusing on building healthy coping skills and identifying motivations to changing behavior. I am also a Certified Sex Offender Therapist (CCSOT) and can provide treatment with both mandated and non-mandated clients.

  • Polyamorous and Open Relationships External link

I've discovered a deep passion for supporting individuals and couples navigating the transition from a monogamous framework to a polyamorous or ethically non-monogamous (ENM) one. This shift can feel both empowering and overwhelming, but with open communication, a strong sense of community, and work around attachment dynamics, I believe we can find a new sense of balance together. I also bring a kink-informed, sex-positive approach to therapy for those exploring alternative lifestyles.

  • Anger Management External link

I am trained in dialectical behavioral therapy and schema therapy in order to help clients gain awareness for their emotional needs and build distress tolerance skills. I also have five years experiencing working with both perpetrators and victims of domestic violence.

  • Postpartum External link

As both a mother and a perinatal mental health specialist, I understand the profound impact of the perinatal and postpartum period on those navigating the journey into motherhood. This is a special area of focus for me, and I’ve completed extensive training to support a healthy, empowered transition through all the diverse experiences that motherhood can bring.
