My Ideal Client

My clients often come to therapy looking for a way to experience this thing we call life differently. I work with couples and adults. I also work with folks struggling with active addiction and/or in recovery, at any point in their recovery journey. I am level 2 Gottman trained for couples therapy.

How I Can Help You

Individual therapy: I operate from a lens of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Motivational Interviewing. I focus on us finding more clarity on what kind of person you want to be, notice the thoughts and feelings that pull you off that course, and practice doing what matters. Part of this is training your mind to slow down, pay attention to what’s happening inside you in real time, so you have more choice in how you respond to what life throws at you. There is no one "right" way to heal and/or grow. We will go at your pace, focus on what feels honest and doable for you, and take this journey one step at a time.

My Approach to Helping

Couples Therapy: I help couples strengthen their connection using the Gottman Method. In short, we are looking at strengthening and growing the friendship unit between you two, learning to turn toward each other rather than away, learn how to manage conflict more gracefully and get closer to building that sense of "us" you want to build together. My approach is collaborative, warm, supportive and direct, creating a grounded space where both partners can feel valued and understood. I want both of you to feel as though you can exit couples therapy feeling empowered to continue the work we started together. I see some couples for five sessions and some for several months. We will explore what it is you are seeking, how I can fit into that and what you can expect from me as your therapist in that journey. I believe in the power of relationships to heal, grow, and transform. It would be a privilege to help support you.

I help couples strengthen their connection using the evidence-based Gottman Method, with a focus on improving communication, deepening emotional intimacy, and fostering greater hope, acceptance, and appreciation for one another.
