My Ideal Client

I work with adults and older teens (17+) who are experiencing grief and loss, life transitions, challenges in relationships, and the effects of trauma including depression and anxiety. My ideal client is interested in self-reflection and ready to dive deeper into exploring their relational and emotional patterns. l accept Kaiser insurance and out of pocket payments (at a rate of $145/hour) with some sliding scale options.

My Background and Approach

I received my Master of Social Work MSW) in 2017 from the University of Michigan. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Oregon. Growth takes place within relationships; I offer a warm, direct, and consistent therapeutic relationship from which you can explore your internal world. I believe that the problems or "symptoms" we bring to therapy are often protective adaptations or "parts" of us that have actually helped us to survive in past circumstances. When we can explore these parts of ourselves from a place of compassion and curiosity, we open up the possibility of relieving distress and shame and of understanding ourselves in a new way. I primarily draw from internal family systems (IFS), attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and somatic and mindfulness approaches. I enjoy integrating aspects of Emotionally Focused Therapy for Individuals (EFIT), adapted from EFT. I am also an EMDR Level 1 trained clinician, but am not actively providing EMDR at this time.

My Values as a Therapist

I aim to adhere to the principle of radical acceptance and offer a non-judgmental space to individuals of all backgrounds. It is my sincere hope that with time my clients can feel safe bringing their most authentic selves to therapy. I am also committed to providing a supportive space to name/discuss the various societal systems that oppress or exclude and to navigating the impact of these on mental health.
