My Ideal Client

I enjoy working with adults who are motivated for therapy and seek clarity, safety, and practical change. I have a background working with individuals seeking outpatient therapy for concerns, including but not limited to: Depression & mood disorders Anxiety disorders Trauma and PTSD ADHD and Level 1 Autism Spectrum disorder Grief and life transitions Aging, Caregiving, & health‑related stress Minority stress related to BIPOC and LGBTQA2s+ experiences Interpersonal and relationship concerns

My Approach to Helping

I believe that, while you cannot always control the world around you, you have a choice in how you respond to it. Therapy with me is collaborative: we clarify what matters to you, set practical goals, and balance emotional processing with skill work. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy, and integrate techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other modalities. My work is trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and culturally attentive - designed to help you build change that lasts beyond our sessions.

Social Justice Issues I Care About

I am mindful that individual struggles often sit inside larger systems—racism, transphobia, economic marginalization, and other structural barriers shape daily experience and access to care. Social justice, societal stigma and marginalization have led me to ongoing training and engagement in culturally-specific interventions, advocacy and support for gender affirming care, and community supports to help people meet their needs so they can address mental health and improve quality of life. I also attend to those realities in our work: we name and validate the impact of systemic harm, explore how it shows up in your life, and develop both internal skills and external strategies to navigate or challenge those barriers where possible. This dual focus—honoring personal experience while recognizing social context—helps us craft goals and interventions that are realistic, culturally responsive, and aimed at improving your quality of life in meaningful, lasting ways.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) External link

I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral therapy in practice, which focuses on the interaction between thoughts and beliefs, emotions, and behavior. Patterns in unhelpful thinking and learned behaviors impact functioning in every area of life, including work, relationships, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem, to name a few. Learning how to recognize unhelpful thoughts and behavior and implementing skills to change these patterns and improve emotional regulation can help improve quality of life.
