My Ideal Client

Are you sick of pursuing an endless cycle of quick-fixes for what you're going through? If you are hoping to gain a deeper understanding of your distressing emotions and behaviors and are oriented toward lasting change, my approach might be a good fit for you. If you want to get to know yourself on a deeper level, I am honored to accompany you on that mission.

My Approach to Helping

Therapy with me is relational and trauma-informed, with plenty of opportunities to slow down and listen deeply to what emerges in the therapy space. I treasure the playful and creative aspects of psychotherapy and I strive to create an atmosphere of sincerity and presence to accompany you as you try new things. I enjoy working with children, adults, and families as they navigate the impacts of depression, trauma, substance misuse, conflict, and other self-defeating behaviors and patterns. I have a particular passion for play therapy with young children, and my approach to psychotherapy with all ages is deeply improvisational and attuned to the here-and-now.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I have experience in intensive outpatient care, substance use treatment, and community mental health. In my most recent role before Family Ties, I worked in a hospital setting providing outpatient and inpatient care to a diverse community with a strong Caribbean and Latine presence. I have worked extensively with queer and trans folks, and I approach all individuals with a rich understanding of how gender and sexuality can intersect with other aspects of our wellbeing. I aim to listen deeply for the ways that culture, identity, power and oppression influence your own mental health and shape the space that we occupy together in the room.
