My Ideal Client

Based on lived experience and training, my clients include but are not limited to: neurodiverse, assigned female at birth, identify as women, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQIA2s+. I especially like helping folks with school and career concerns; managing and addressing trauma, adversity, and discrimination; grief and loss; and guidance around living well with disabilities.

My Approach to Helping

With two master's degrees (the first in sociology and the second in clinical mental health counseling), I utilize evidence-based practices to provide respectful services that celebrate human agency and diversity in all of its expressions. I honor your courage in reaching out for help as well as your perseverence in finding good help--it's not easy and I know many of you may have had bad experiences opening up in the past. You matter and the world needs you, even though it not feel that way right now. I will do everything within my power to support you.

My Approach to Helping

I utilize evidence-based practices to provide respectful services that celebrate human agency and diversity in all of its expressions. My techniques are mostly aligned with narrative therapy with blended applications of humor, DBT, ACT, Somatic Reprocessing, Expressive Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Narrative  External link

A method developed by Australian psychotherapists, Narrative Therapy is my primary theoretical orientation. Narrative helps us deconstruct systems of being that do not service you or your values and goals. It also offers a trauma processing model called Narrative Exposure Therapy that is incredibly powerful for healing. There are many other tools, and ongoing I will review with you all the options, such that you can make the most informed decisions possible about how to spend our time together.

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) External link

DBT is great for those who prefer more directive and structured approaches and can help you be more effective in accomplishing your goals, self-regulating, and communicating your wants and needs.

  • Eclectic External link

I work with you to identify types of processing that are most helpful and, if you are open to it, I work with your expressed needs, wants, and preferences to employ a variety of creative methods, such as writing, visual & experiential/sensory techniques to facilitate growth.

Issues I Treat
