My Ideal Client

I offer therapy that starts with your emotions, lived experience, and seeks to reconnect you with the natural world. I utilize a trauma-informed, nature-based therapy, and believe nature is a powerful tool for keeping us grounded when things in our lives feel out of control. Together we can work on helping you feel more grounded, connected, and at peace. I offer telehealth counseling across Oregon, including Portland, Salem, Eugene, Bend, and Medford.

My Approach to Helping

Much of my work has involved trauma and helping people make sense of what happened and how it shows up now. I listen first, reflect what I'm hearing, and then look at what emotions that brings up for you, in a warm, non-judgemental, calming space. I also offer walk-and-talk, nature-based sessions for people in the Albany/Salem area who feel better processing outdoors. Finding the right fit matters. Schedule a free 15-minute consultation on my website. Evening hours available Monday - Thursday

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I work with clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma related to their relationships, family or religion. Together we'll decide what you want to address and the changes that matter most. Whether you want targeted goals or steady place to process , we'll choose what works best for you.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EcoTherapy External link

I am a certified Ecotheraputic guide and would love to help you explore how nature can help you develop mindfulness and grounding skills, develop resiliency, and help manage depression and anxiety. Nature has so many mental health benefits and I am here to help you discover what that looks like for you.

  • Emotionally Focused External link

Emotions are important signals about what is going on in ourselves. I let emotions take front stage in session because they can tell us so much about what is going for us both in session and during our day to day lives. If you struggle with feeling overwhelmed by your emotions or you struggle to identify and communicate your emotions Emotion-Focused Therapy can help you build a better relationship with your emotions.

  • Attachment Theory External link

The bonds we have with other people in our lives shape who we are, especially our bonds with our parents and our partner. Attachment Theory looks at how we have bonded with our parents and how those patterns play out in other relationships in our lives. If you struggle with connection you may benefit from examining how attachment plays into how you form relationships.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

I have focused my studies on working with adult who experienced childhood trauma, dysfunction, or neglect. If you can see that there are patterns, coping mechanisms, and beliefs about yourself that are doing more harm then good in your life I can work with you to uncover and process where those beliefs came from. As we do this we will work to find new coping skills, patterns, and beliefs that support you and build you up.

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

If you are struggling with getting your needs met or feeling heard in your relationship, or your relationship is at it's end and you are navigating all the emotions that go along with that, I can help you sort through your feelings and help you focus on what you can control to gain confidence in yourself as you go through this tumultuous time.

  • Family Conflict External link

I can work with you to navigate difficult family relationships. Relationships with our parents, siblings, and children can be difficult to handle as we struggled with patterns that have been in place for decades. I can work with you to establish new patterns and boundaries that improve the well-being of your family relationships and yourself.

  • Political Climate External link

As the world grapples with human-caused climate change it is easy to feel overwhelmed and powerless. Ecotherapy is a powerful approach to dealing with climate based anxiety. We can work together to discover the resiliency of nature and find ways for you to make an impact in your local ecosystem.
