My Ideal Client

You might look capable on the outside. Thoughtful. Insightful. The one others rely on. And inside? You feel anxious, braced, over-responsible. You replay conversations. You question yourself. You struggle to relax in relationships, even the good ones. You may carry shame that doesn’t logically make sense, but it lives in your body anyway. If that feels familiar, you are not broken. You are a survivor of interpersonal trauma. And I can help you change these patterns.

My Background and Approach

I specialize in trauma processing, particularly complex interpersonal trauma, the kind that develops slowly in relationships. Chronic misattunement. Emotional neglect. Religious or cultural harm. Family systems where love and fear were intertwined. Relationships where you learned to disappear, perform, or over-function to stay connected. This work goes beyond coping skills. Together, we gently and systematically process what your nervous system is still holding so you can feel safer, clearer, and more solid in yourself. My background in Zen Buddhist practice deeply informs how I work. That means we slow down. We track what’s happening in your body. We cultivate awareness without judgment. We build the capacity to stay present with difficult emotions. Not by forcing them, but by creating enough internal safety for them to unfold. Trauma healing is not about retelling your story over and over. It’s about helping your nervous system complete what got interrupted.

Social Justice Issues I Care About

As a queer therapist, I offer affirming, attuned space for LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients navigating identity, masking, family estrangement, religious trauma, internalized shame, gender exploration, and the chronic exhaustion of living in systems not built for you. You do not have to educate me, justify yourself, or translate your experience here. I frequently work with: - Queer and trans adults - Neurodivergent adults, including ADHD and autistic clients - Highly sensitive and deeply introspective people - Therapists and helping professionals - Those navigating attachment anxiety or avoidance - Individuals untangling religious or spiritual trauma - Clients who feel self-aware but still stuck - Couples healing trust ruptures and trauma-driven cycles

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Emotionally Focused External link

Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) is a research-supported model for relational wellness. I use this as the backbone of all of my work with couples and other attachment-based relationships.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • PTSD External link

I am trained in a process called MBNET (Mentalization-Based Narrative Exposure Therapy). This process methodically supports you in untying the knots in your body, mind, behaviors, and relationship patterns through a thoughtful process of trauma processing. I trained with Riva Stoudt and Kae Hixon of The Kiln School, based in Portland Oregon.
