My Ideal Client

Taking the first step toward therapy can feel vulnerable, but I believe that finding a space where you are truly seen is where healing begins. I’m Sean Smith, and I work with individuals, couples, and polyamorous constellations to navigate the complexities of identity, connection, and life’s inevitable transitions.

My Approach to Helping

Whether you are seeking support as an individual or within a relationship, my approach is eclectic and highly personalized. I often draw from parts work (Internal Family Systems), psychodynamic therapy and CBT to help you understand your internal world and shift the patterns that no longer serve you. For Couples & Poly Relationships: I provide a nonjudgmental container to explore communication, intimacy, infidelity, or the nuances of open and polyamorous dynamics. We will surface the patterns holding you back and explore alternative patterns that bring you closer. If necessary, I can help you mindfully navigate the end of a relationship. For Individuals: If you are navigating loss, grief, career or education shifts, or changes in your family and social networks, we will address the anxiety and loss of identity that often accompany these transitions.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As a queer, bi-racial, Two-Spirit, and neurodivergent (ADHD) therapist, I don’t just offer clinical expertise; I offer a lived understanding of navigating life’s challenges toward building a full, connected and meaningful life. My practice is rooted in trauma-informed and neuro-affirming care, ensuring that our work together is compassionate, strengths-based, and—above all—helps you to empower yourself to grow authentically. While I have a specific affinity for supporting LGBTQ2S+ and POC communities, I warmly welcome all individuals and partnerships. My goal is to help you feel grounded, peaceful and empowered across your life and your relationships.
