My Ideal Client

Are you seeking the tools and skills necessary to navigate interpersonal difficulties with greater ease? Are the conflicts in your relationship taking you away from deeper connection? I can help you navigate a path towards more satisfaction in your relationships. Although many of my clients are romantic couples, I also work with any type of relationships.

My Approach to Helping

I can support you to: improve communication skills, make changes in your relationships that have a real and lasting impact, develop a greater appreciation for relationship differences and how they can add value to your life - and explore what brings your life meaning and purpose. Portland, OR has been my home for the last 25 years, but I also spent formative years in New England and Georgia. This has resulted in me adopting characteristics from all three: the straight-forwardness of NE, the conscientiousness of the South, and the openness and flexibility of the PNW. Besides being a parent, husband, and friend, I also have extensive experience as a caretaker of children. Relationships in general have always held my attention and curiosity. Having the privilege of becoming a relationship specialist has been one of the most humbling and ever-inspiring focuses of my life. I love this work and I'm here for you.

Why I am a Good Fit for You

I provide honest dialogue, creative solutions, and a path forward. Relationship struggles can feel insurmountable, and it can feel intimidating to reach out for support. I understand this deeply. I welcome your truth, your feelings, and your unique lived experience. By using research-based approaches and a wide range of experience, I can help you deepen your connection and bring back joy & intimacy to your relationship. Whether you are in a committed relationship and experiencing challenges - or want to be in a relationship and don't know where to start - I will support your growth and help you navigate both your strengths and your difficulties - and we may even laugh a little along the way! I'm currently offering both in-person sessions (at our SE office) or via Telehealth. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

  • Men's Issues External link

These days understanding what it means “to be a man” can be full of mixed messages. Typically, these "rules" of masculinity come from the environments men developed in but were internalized so young that it can seem like they are the natural or correct way. I work with men to examine many of the expectations they contend with and decide what should be embraced or left behind.
