My Ideal Client

With over two decades of experience as a middle-school teacher, my background includes working with adolescents and pre-teens guiding them through challenges related to ADHD, disorganization, and other various struggles. I support teens dealing with academic stress, peer pressure, and mental health challenges. Whether you’re a wife, mother, or professional feeling overwhelmed, I can help you regain confidence and identity.

My Approach to Helping

Therapy, in my view, is a powerful tool for gaining clarity on your identity, pursuing dreams, and tackling life’s challenges. My approach involves walking alongside you in a caring, safe, and supportive environment. I draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and a person-centered therapeutic approach. Additionally, I am certified in level one Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am actively pursuing a trauma certificate from George Fox University, with plans to learn Restoration Therapy.

Why I Became a Therapist

Life is a journey of growth, change, and self-discovery. At times, unexpected challenges can knock us off balance, and that’s where seeking support becomes crucial. As a therapist, I am honored to be a companion on your healing journey, whether it’s navigating grief, managing anxiety, overcoming depression, navigating faith transitions, or addressing other life challenges. I am currently completing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from George Fox University, but also hold a Master’s of Teaching Degree from Lewis and Clark College and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Brigham Young University. Beyond my professional life, I find joy in spending time with family, walking my dog, embracing the outdoors, continuous learning, staying active through exercise, and even navigating the challenges of gluten-free baking (a journey that began after being a Pillsbury Bake-off Finalist in 2012).
