My Ideal Client

If you are realizing that your current strategies for handling relationships and life stressors may be impacted by your childhood or past trauma, I would love to help you to gain clarity and relief and move forward in healthy ways. I can help you to connect your current patterns to past experiences and get you unstuck from ways of coping and responding that are limiting or ultimately unhelpful.

What I Specialize In

EMDR is a bottom-up approach that uses bilateral stimulation (eye movement or somatic sensation going back and forth). EMDR can help you integrate past trauma, become less reactive, and finally shift problematic patterns that may have kept you feeling stuck or unable to change. EMDR offers your brain the opportunity it has been waiting for to finally integrate what has been left unsettled. I also utilize an IFS-inspired approach that integrates mindfulness and somatic psychotherapy. In practice this looks like turning inward and entering a meditative state during your session. We then explore body sensations, mind-body connection, cognitive processes, and explore the parts of your inner world. We can use somatic meditation to interrupt the feedback loop between mental and physical anxiety, giving you skills to finally get relief from anxiety, OCD, or feeling stuck in a "fight or flight" state of nervous system dysregulation.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a warm, genuine, flexible and open-minded provider who is attuned and present with you. I will share my impressions and make suggestions when it feels helpful. I believe that effective therapy takes a two-prong approach. We need to address the patterns, experiences, and defensive mechanisms learned from your childhood to provide treatment at the root, while also addressing and exploring your current coping tools, strategies, and life stressors to bring you immediate relief. For this reason I provide EMDR therapy which treats trauma at the root, while also providing support for your current struggles and stressors through talk therapy and meditation. We will work together using a collaborative approach to figure out what your goals are for feeling better and how to reach them, in a way that feels safe and supportive for you.
