My Ideal Client

I welcome those who are suffering, seeking wellness, and searching for meaning. After decades of working in the milieu of healthcare quality, I support emotional and physical health status improvements, those living with chronic conditions, frontline workers, healthcare practitioners, executives, and small business owners who are pursuing their own inner work or professional enrichment.

My Approach to Helping

Jungian analysis is a soulful method of working with life issues and emotions that is based on the teachings of the Swiss physician, Carl Gustav Jung, MD. Jungian analysis focuses on complexes, unconscious patterns, symptoms, relationships, and the development and maturation of the personality, a process called individuation. Clients tell their story, explore connections between past and present, and find meaning. Many clients report feelings of self-acceptance, transformation, authenticity, renewed energy for life, and enhanced relationships. Jungian psychotherapy, like Jungian analysis, is based on the teachings of Carl Jung, MD. Jungian psychotherapy is a problem- and solution-focused therapy. Jungian psychotherapy focuses on an experience that is troubling the client and the development of new skills with which to engage the world. Jungian psychotherapy is less philosophical and more practical than Jungian analysis.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I trained as a Jungian psychoanalyst at the C. G. Jung Institute in Zurich and earned a Swiss degree, a Diplom, in 2005. I was licensed in Oregon as a psychologist in 2008. I am certified as an NCPsyA, a Nationally Certified Psychoanalyst by NAAP. I have advanced training in Compassionate (Non-Violent) Communication, neurobiology, and trauma. As a member of the InterRegional Society of Jungian analysts, I participate in the training and development of future analysts and psychotherapists.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Nonviolent Communication External link

Compassionate (Non-Violent) Communication identifies feelings and needs, reduces negative thoughts about others, invites empathy, and increases self-agency. NVC directly and immediately empowers the speaker.

  • Depth Therapy External link

Depth therapy is about meaning -- having experiences in the session hour that rewire memories and a personal narrative in ways that can change the trajectory of a life.

  • Psychodynamic  External link

Psychodynamic therapy dips back to the beginning of a pattern of feelings, reactions, or strategies of coping with one's environment that confine, limit, or constrict possibility.
