My Background and Approach

Therapy should not be scary. I strive to lead you in safe, comfortable conversation about your circumstances and rely on questions and stories as you consider what to do next. My goal is to help you identify tools and strategies you can use to tackle the challenges you face. Theoretically, I use an eclectic approach focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy and narrative therapy. I am an optimistic pragmatist. I offer a free initial consultation. My fee is $200 for a fifty minute session. I work with Oregon residents who have PacificSource Legacy Plus, Legacy Navigator, Navigator and Voyager insurance plans. Why I am a Good Fit for You

I have a Master’s degree in Social Work from Smith College School of Social Work and also a Master’s degree in Sociology from Harvard University. I feel this combination gives me a good background to consider not only a person’s thoughts but also the social and environmental circumstances which affect them. My work experience includes community mental health, college mental health, and addictions treatment. I have been in private practice in Portland since 2012. I have also worked as a clinical supervisor for many years and continue to train other therapists on an ongoing basis.
