My Approach

Learning to build authentic relationships through connection leads our personal change. Horses are amazing creatures that offer us a unique opportunity to experience being present and receiving immediate, unbiased feedback on our true feelings. A herd of horses and a couple humans with more than 50 years of experience with four and two legged folks will guide you to healing and growth using practices from both the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association and Trauma Focused Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Mindfulness, drumming and Collaborative Problem Solving approaches are used as well in healing through co-regulation. We work together to create and strengthen new neural pathways. Compassion fatigue is also addressed for healers and helpers through biweekly and monthly group sessions as well as individually. We offer individual, group, family and co-parent sessions as well as one time workshops. Contract groups for agency staff and clients provided.

My Background

I have 30 years experience working with youth, families and adults in settings from the wilderness, offices, classrooms and now the arena and paddock. EAGALA certification in Equine assisted psychotherapy and training in Trauma Focused EAP with Natural Lifemanship. I'm also tier one trained in collaborative problem solving. Experiential approaches have always been my preferred method and horses are the best partners in healing and growth. I will also be renewing my CADCIII substance use disorder tx credential this summer. Each session includes one or more horses, an Equine Professional and a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
