My Ideal Client

I work with relationships, adult families, and individuals around challenges including communication, sex therapy, attachment, navigating conflict, life transitions, and identity work. I am committed to fostering a space where healing and growth are possible for all.

My Approach to Helping

At the heart of my approach is a relational lens, which helps me attune to each member of the system I am working with, whether individual, relationship, or family. No one exists in isolation—we are shaped by the people around us and the larger systems we swim in. I aim to understand how contexts, such as culture, oppression, community, and family of origin, influence you and your relationships. I recognize and honor that everyone has a unique lived experience. I hope that through collaborative work together, we can uncover your values and help you align with them. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including Emotion Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy. Together, we’ll explore the emotional experiences and patterns underlying your challenges. We’ll work toward creating greater understanding and compassion while making space for the different parts of you that may have developed in response to your experiences.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, curious, and non-judgmental. I place great importance on creating an open, honest space where constructive feedback is welcomed and valued. While I recognize that as a therapist I hold power in the therapeutic relationship, I do not take that responsibility lightly. I am committed to fostering a safe, empowering environment where you feel comfortable sharing what works for you and what doesn’t. I see our work as a partnership, and I am open to feedback to ensure the process is supportive and effective for you.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

As Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, I have specialized training in relational issues. I am passionate about working with relationships where the love is there, but each partner is stuck in patterns and trauma responses that cause them to hurt one another. I use an emotionally focused approach to identify these negative patterns and deepen emotions to understand the true fears causing them. My goal is to increase vulnerability and understanding to help break these patterns.

  • Sexual Problems External link

I have received specialized training in sexuality because it is generally still a taboo subject in our culture. It was important to me to be able to bring a sex positive approach to all of my clients, especially those who are experiencing sexual shame or trauma. In sex therapy, consent is vital, so we will go slow and at your own pace. We will work together to help you achieve your sex related goals, whether that is deepened intimacy with yourself or your partner(s).

  • Family Conflict External link

As Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, I have specialized training in relational issues. In family therapy, I use an emotionally focused approach to uncover relational wounds, unmet needs, and underlying emotional experiences. From there, we will cultivate understanding and help create new patterns to support the needs of all family members.
