I offer a nonjudgmental space where we can explore together sources of your pain or distress, while developing new ways of interacting with yourself and others. I offer empathy, experience, and expertise to help you heal. Most of my clients are working through significant life transitions, including: perinatal mental health concerns, grief and loss, stress, anxiety, depression, or family relational conflict. Additionally, I specialize in perinatal mental health, offering support to parents and families around pregnancy and the postpartum period. Deciding to enter therapy can be frightening and uncomfortable. I will work to help you feel at ease through this process. Please visit my website at www.parkershamescounseling.com for more details on my practice and approach. Contact me to set up a free initial phone consultation. You do not have to face this alone. I can help!

I received my Bachelor's in Sociology from Pitzer College, in Claremont, CA in 2004. I worked for many years as a public health researcher and educator before returning to school to pursue a degree in counseling. I received my Master's of Science degree in Counselor Education, Marriage, Couples and Family Therapy from Portland State University in 2014. I opened my private practice in 2015. I was born and raised in southern Oregon. I have lived in Portland for 15 years. When I am not working, I enjoy travel, cooking, hiking, creating art, and exploring beautiful places in the Pacific Northwest with my family. I believe that therapy is a powerful tool for change, and it is my privilege to provide a space for you to explore the possibility of healing for you.
