I have completed basic EMDR training and enjoy using EMDR with clients.
In addition to having a strong mindfulness/yoga based practice of my own for many years, I completed training with the META (Mindful Experiential Therapeutic Applications) clinic in Portland.
Depression is one of the most common mental health concerns in the United States. Sadness and grief are normal human emotions. I provide a safe, caring space for you to explore feelings of sadness or grief, whether they are new or something you have been experiencing for a long time. Through the use of various modalities, I can assist you in exploring ways to alleviate feelings of depression.
Anxiety is a very common human experience. I believe that anxiety is often a message from our body that something needs to change, or be approached in a different way. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their feelings of anxiety, while learning practical tools to cope with the symptoms.
Working with trauma survivors is a passion of mine. It has been said that PTSD is a normal response to an abnormal situation. Whether you have experienced a one time trauma, or have a history of multiple traumas, I will work with you to find the best way to approach your unique experience with compassion and with an emphasis on safety and trust.
I worked at the Gateway Center for Domestic Violence as a therapist for three years. This experience allowed me to develop the unique ability to be sensitive to the unique needs of survivors of intimate partner violence, something that I am very passionate about. I enjoy helping survivors find their inner strength, and to become empowered to make new choices.
