My Ideal Client

I recognize that going to therapy is challenging for so many reasons, and I hope that I can help guide you to make the time meaningful and lead to lasting positive change. My clients typically are open to learning more about themselves, the patterns they are stuck in, and how they can move closer to the life that they want and authentically be with the people and beings that they care about.

My Approach to Helping

Throughout my approach, I make sure to stay grounded in the present moment with you, and find that by using a nonjudgmental stance, I can stay curious and compassionate while we dig into very vulnerable topics. Sometimes this means using humor and laughter, role playing (love an excuse to do a good role play), as well as being my own genuine self in the therapy space. I typically use cognitive behavioral and feminist modalities in my work with people. I believe that challenging power dynamics in many contexts can help promote healing from within. Understanding how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact for a person, can also help me better support you in changing patterns that you are ready to shift. Above all, I have a passion for working with people who hold marginalized identities, especially racial, economic, sexual and gender identities, and other cultural identities that are salient to you.

My Values as a Therapist

Lastly, I find it an honor to do this work, and try my best to join with my clients as they tackle some of the most daunting and challenging situations in their lives. While I use foundational and evidence-based tools in therapy, I also come from a place of humility, knowing that I always have more to learn as a therapist and a person.
