Our Ideal Client

Our ideal clients are women and gender-diverse adults seeking to better understand how their individual brain functions influence their thoughts and behaviors starting with a comprehensive ADHD, OCD, or PTSD Assessment. Women who are ready for clarity and to feel more internal control over their outcomes in life. Those seeking to understand the nuances in the traits that show up for women with untreated ADHD and OCD and how that can often lead to complex trauma.

What We Specialize In

Rebellious Women Empowerment Therapy LLC specializes in comprehensive, affirming assessments for ADHD, OCD, and PTSD. We serve women and gender‑diverse adults who have been overlooked or misunderstood, offering clarity, validation, and a path forward through trauma‑informed, neurodivergent‑affirming evaluation. Together, we explore how ADHD has shaped your life — not as a flaw, but as a pattern of strengths, sensitivities, creativity, and resilience. We are more than a therapy and comprehensive assessment practice—we are a movement. At Rebellious Women Empowerment Therapy, we help women reclaim their stories & break free from limiting narratives.

Why We are a Good Fit for You

Rebellious Women Empowerment Therapy would be a great fit for you if you have spent years feeling overlooked, dismissed, or told your struggles “were not that bad.” Our practice specializes in comprehensive, affirming assessments for ADHD, OCD, and PTSD — especially in women and gender‑diverse adults whose symptoms have been misunderstood or minimized. We offer a space where your lived experience is taken seriously, your story is honored, and you finally have clarity about your brain. Our evaluations are trauma‑informed, neurodivergent‑affirming, and designed to bring clarity, validation, and a path forward. If you are ready to understand yourself more deeply and reclaim your narrative, we are the right fit!

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

Sarah Jurrens, LPC, LMHC, has completed both Phase I and Phase II of EMDR training and completed all consultation requirements. She loves incorporating EMDR into therapy or short solution-focused EMDR therapy for single-event traumas or more in-depth, lengthier solutions for more complex cases. She is also trained in the Flash Technique to assist in desensitizing to disturbing memories.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • ADHD External link

Sarah Jurrens, Owner, M.Edu, LPC, LMHC, specializes in identifying ADHD in women and gender‑diverse adults whose symptoms were minimized, misread, or masked for years. Comprehensive ADHD assessments integrate lived experience, trauma history, and neurodivergent‑affirming frameworks to distinguish ADHD from anxiety, trauma responses, and chronic overwhelm. Her goal is to offer clarity, validation, and a roadmap that finally makes sense.

  • OCD External link

At Rebellious W.E. Therapy, we provide services by a trained clinician who recognizes both classic and lesser‑known OCD presentations, including Relationship OCD (ROCD), Retroactive Jealousy (RJ), and Purely Obsessive OCD (aka Pure O). Our assessments help clients understand the difference between OCD, anxiety, and trauma‑driven rumination. We provide a shame‑free, highly attuned evaluation process that honors the nuance of OCD in adults who were never screened or never screened properly.

  • PTSD External link

At Rebellious, expertise includes identifying PTSD in clients who have survived chronic stress, relational trauma, or systemic harm by using trauma‑informed, culturally responsive assessment tools that capture both acute and complex trauma patterns. Trauma work centers on helping clients understand how their nervous system adapted for survival — and how healing becomes possible.

  • Cultural and Systemic Oppression External link

Every assessment is approached through a lens that acknowledges racism, sexism, ableism, queerphobia, and other forms of systemic oppression. Creating an understanding of how these forces shape symptoms, coping strategies, and access to care. My evaluations intentionally separate pathology from survival, ensuring clients are not misdiagnosed for responses to oppression.

  • Anxiety External link

We spend time differentiating anxiety from ADHD, OCD, and trauma‑based hypervigilance, as well as understanding that it is often a symptom of these potential disorders. The assessment process explores the roots of worry, overwhelm, and somatic tension with nuance and compassion. Helping clients understand whether their anxiety is a standalone condition, a trauma response, or a secondary effect of living in a world that has not supported their neurotype.
