My Ideal Client

Whether you’re a child feeling overwhelmed by big emotions, a teen caught in the whirlwind of school and social pressure, or an adult juggling responsibilities while trying to hold it all together — you’re not alone. I work with children (5+), teens and adults who often feel like they have to be “on” all the time — high-achievers, perfectionists, deep feelers, and those whose bodies have carried too much through chronic illness or medical trauma. If you're feeling anxious or stuck, I've got you.

My Background and Approach

My approach is strengths-based and person-centered, which means I genuinely believe you are the expert of your own story. I’m here to walk alongside you with empathy, curiosity, and a little sense of humor. I’m also trauma-informed, so your safety, trust, and readiness guide the pace of our work — always. When helpful, I incorporate nature-based, play-based and/or mindfulness practices to support healing and reconnection with your own internal compass. I can help you navigate the following: Anxiety & Depression - High-Functioning Anxiety - Perfectionism - Stress & Overwhelm - Burnout - Highly Sensitive People/Children (HSP) - Trauma - Emotion Identification & Regulation - Self Esteem - Behavioral Issues - Peer Relationships - Challenges in School - Adjustments - Chronic Illness & Medical Trauma When appropriate and desired, I use nature-based therapy elements in my sessions with children, adolescents and adults. This can mean bringing the outdoors in, or completing therapy outside!

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My goal as a therapist is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and maybe even a little lighter when you leave than when you came in. Whether we’re building coping skills, exploring past experiences, or simply learning to breathe again, I’m here to support your journey with compassion. I graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Master’s in counseling in 2022 and I have served clients both as a school counselor and as a therapist in Minnesota and Oregon. I bring a detailed knowledge of the school system to my work. I have experience working with a broad range of client backgrounds, ethnicities and lived experiences. Please reach out to start our healing journey together!

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EcoTherapy External link

I use nature-based therapy to help clients reconnect with themselves through the grounding, calming rhythms of the natural world. Drawing from my own healing experiences in nature, I incorporate outdoor elements to support reflection and regulation. I believe that therapy can look different for different clients. Sitting in a chair in an office is a great method for some, but many others find healing through movement, exploration, curiosity and play.

  • Play Therapy  External link

With 4 years as an elementary school counselor, I use play therapy to help children express emotions, build skills, and feel understood. Through play, including sand tray, kids can safely explore their inner world, and I guide the process with expertise, empathy, and a deep understanding of childhood development. I've continued to expand my knowledge in child psychology and development, as well as how to approach play therapy from a trauma-informed perspective.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

I use a person-centered, mindfulness-based approach that honors each client as the expert of their own story. With training and experience rooted in empathy, authenticity, and deep listening, I create a space where clients feel truly seen and supported—allowing healing and growth to unfold at their own pace. During my master's level training in counseling, I specialized in person-centered and strengths-based approaches, which honor a client's past resilience, worldview and unique story.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Anxiety External link

As a fellow perfectionist, overachiever, and highly sensitive person, I personally understand the impact that anxiety, overthinking and stress can have on daily life and relationships. I help clients with anxiety feel more calm, clear, and in control by creating a safe, supportive space to explore their thoughts and emotions. Using tools like mindfulness, grounding techniques, and nature-inspired creative expression, we work together to ease overwhelm and build confidence from the inside out.

  • Child or Adolescent Issues External link

With years of experience as a K–12 school counselor, I support children and teens through big emotions, school stress, and social challenges by creating a playful, safe space where they can express themselves, build confidence, and learn tools to thrive both in and out of the classroom. I have direct experience supporting children ages 5+ with their social, emotional and identity development. I am passionate about finding creative and engaging ways to teach coping skills and emotion regulation.

  • Chronic Pain or Illness External link

As someone living with chronic illness, I offer a deeply empathetic space for clients navigating their own health journeys. Chronic illness and pain impacts more than just our bodies - it impacts our mental health, too. I support clients with a whole-person approach. Together, we explore the emotional toll of illness, build coping strategies, and reconnect with a sense of self beyond diagnosis—honoring both the challenges and your resilience along the way.
