Are you, your partner(s), or your family trying to break intergenerational curses to feel more connected to yourself and each other? Do you find yourselves misunderstanding each other and feeling confused about why this keeps happening? Are y'all having difficulties struggling to adjust to an acute or chronic illness and how it impacts your relationship(s)? I work with you and your loved ones to help each of you feel more connected and empowered as you navigate various transitions.
Specialties
I utilize Family Systems theory to understand how you relate to others in your larger world. I explore how ways of connecting in your family growing up have shaped how you engage with yourself and your relationships now to ultimately empower you in doing differently!
I utilize EMDR to help uproot negative beliefs about yourself and plant new seeds to help you change the impacts of trauma. With this approach, you do not have to go into re-explaining your trauma; I follow your lead in how much or how little you want to disclose during the trauma re-processing. The goal is to ultimately help bring you back to the present moment rather than being pulled towards the past or future.
I utilize Emotionally Focused therapy to help you navigate your relational bond between you and your close others. Attachment is one part of your experience, and I take it into consideration when working alongside you to help shape your current and future interactions.
Specialties
Queerness is a beautiful thing that can be hard to define with language. For people that identify as LGBTQ+, I work to provide culturally informed care to understand how you connect to your sense of gender, romantic and sexual orientations and how these shape your interactions with the larger world.
It can be difficult to navigate new diagnoses of chronic pain, diabetes, or other chronic illnesses. With my specialized training in Medical Family Therapy, I can help you and your loved ones navigate life with the chronic illness or pain moving forward. I also will help you and your loved ones navigate the healthcare system to simultaneously advocate for yourself and your medical needs while also staying connected to each other and your larger care team.
