Sometimes along life’s path we can start to feel like we have lost our way. Life can result in feelings of meaninglessness, depression, exhaustion, loss of creativity or emptiness. We may feel a tugging within us that something is wrong, and we are off course. This can often lead us to therapy for relief of difficult experiences, thoughts and feelings. Still other times we may enter therapy with a desire to find meaning and purpose. It is my honor to support you in your healing journey.
Specialties
I have decades of experience and specific trauma training in EMDR, IFS, and CBT that can relieve symptoms and create a safe space to heal to allow you to live more fully present and free. Creating a safe container for this work is paramount and partnering together in a warm and compassionate space allows the important work to unfold. I work with you to honor your experience, allowing the life you want to live to become more deeply possible.
I work with many people suffering from anxiety, depression and panic attacks. We will work together to create a safe space that allows us to address your specific needs, symptoms, goals, identify the root causes and help you heal and move forward with strength.
I work with a variety of couples and families including ones with adult children, step-families, mixed families and more. Family therapy will focus on the whole system; concentrating on the relationships between individual family members, their roles and situations, including context, rules, boundaries and communication. Our focus will be in improving and enhancing relationships tailored to your specific needs and set you and your family on a positive road towards healing and understanding.
I have over 25 years experience working with individuals and families struggling with addiction. I have a heart for this work and believe that by walking side by side we can develop a trusting relationship to explore the root causes of addiction, heal from the shame and judgment that often accompanies using substances and find ways of caring for self that promotes your dreams, aspirations, goals, relationships and live more fully present as you step fully into who you are meant to be.
Often times families experiencing the effects of severe mental illness find this experience to be tumultuous, complex, and isolating. Sessions will be designed to help guide families who have a member with schizophrenia or other psychosis diagnosis. This service provides individual, family and system support through extremely difficult times and helps you navigate your feelings, loss and fears as well as the systems that are complex and often do not meet your needs.
