My Background

With a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and years of experience as a professor (Portland State University and Washington State University), I have trained hundreds of future therapists and provided professional development on ethical practice and career development globally. My clinical work has included career counseling for significant life transitions and examining the impact of work on personal identity, physical and mental health, and family. I am deeply committed to helping individuals overcome challenges and achieve their full potential personally and professionally. I served on the Oregon Board for Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists, reviewing ethical and legal complaints against counselors. This experience gave me a drive to help counselors maintain boundaries, manage transference/countertransference, and work within the scope of their knowledge and skills.

As an identity-based supervisor, my approach centers on understanding how your identity influences your professional practice. Together, I aim to help you discover new things about yourself and what you bring to your work and enhance your ability to meet client's needs through skill development.
