My Ideal Client

Have you had a difficult life? Do you wish you had a different parent growing up? Have you lost someone who you really cared about recently? Are grief and loss your constants in this life? Are you close to giving up? DON’T. I can help you with an alchemical experience that is our work together. If you cycle in your moods, or have health issues, I also have been where you are.

What I Specialize In

Have you ever felt like your life was not making sense? Or your feelings? I am here for you. I specialize in grief and loss, narcissistic abuse recovery, Bipolar disorder, adult children of alcoholics, and individuals with disabilities and those auto-immune disorders, and individuals who are domestic violence and cancer survivors. Unfortunately, I don't treat suicidal ideation or self-harm at this time.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in a person’s innate ability to transform themselves, with guidance and support. I honor diverse ways of thinking, being and believing during my sessions. There will be an emphasis on practicing new communication skills and new behaviors. I am constantly in awe of the resiliency of children, teens, and adults. My approach to counseling is shaped by person-centered, relational, reality, depth, and trauma-informed theories. I believe people are resourceful, capable of self-understanding, and can make the changes they desire. By building a relationship based on congruence, unconditional positive regard, and empathetic understanding, I believe I can create an environment where my clients can work towards growth and change. I believe that change occurs when one becomes what he or she is, not when he tries to become what he is not, so I will work with you and your child to find realistic and attainable goals that are rooted in your current identity.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Relational  External link

I believe that humans are social beings and that our interactions with others shape us. I will help you investigate communication and behavior patterns that might contribute to conflict or suffering in your life and relationships.

  • Depth Therapy External link

Basically, the human psyche is a partially conscious and partially unconscious process that stores experiences that have been repressed and personal concerns as well as collective and archetypal "forces." In therapy involving the soul is essential.

  • Emotionally Focused External link

Emotions can shift once they are connected to and extracted into discussion. Through close and careful analysis of the meanings and contributions of emotion to human experience we can deepen our awareness of how emotions teach, communicate, and linger from experiences like early attachment.

  • Narrative  External link

Life is an elaborate tapestry woven together by images and snapshots. We carry our life like a story. Some of it is negatively projected on us from early ages and from traumas. We get to sort out this story and revise it to reflect who we ultimately want to be and not just what we went through.
