My Ideal Client

Each one of us can continue to grow and change as we journey through life. And as we change, we affect those around us, our friends and our families. I am passionate about helping individuals become who they want to be. And because I believe we live our best lives in relationship with others, I also work with couples and families to help them connect with each other in meaningful ways.

My Background and Approach

I am a current Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy masters student intern. My entire adult life I have worked in paid and volunteer roles with youth, adults, and couples, teaching classes and just walking alongside people as they go through challenging circumstances. But I decided to go to graduate school so that I would be better prepared to help people move forward in their lives in positive ways, gaining tools and experience that I can pass on to my clients. I am currently a Relate Strong Facilitator and a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for pre-marital counseling, and am pursuing certification in Restoration Therapy. As a trained Prepare/Enrich facilitator, I have worked with engaged and married couples and love walking with people who are working on their most important relationship. I also am aware of how hard it can be to be a teenager or young adult in today’s world, and I enjoy hearing their stories and coming alongside them as they navigate life.

Why I Became a Therapist

I have moved often during my life and have met many different people in the United States and around the world. This has given me added perspective about what is really important in life regardless of one’s culture or language. Faith has been foundational for me as I have journeyed through hard times, as well as important relationships and knowing who I am. But I also believe that we all change over time, and that’s a good thing because it means we’re not stagnant. So I am committed to listening to others’ perspectives with respect and openness, regardless of whether or not we agree on things. I am in relationship with people who have different educational and socioeconomic backgrounds, and different or no religious beliefs, and it enriches my life. I look forward to getting to know people from all walks of life as I work in counseling.
