My Ideal Client

I work with clients experiencing mild to moderate mental health disorders ages 8 years old to 70 years old, diagnosed with depression and/or anxiety, experiencing the recent death of a loved one, exploring gender identity, transitioning from school to work, going through a divorce, trying to find the meaning of life, or having difficulties making major decisions. I am here to support you, to listen without judgment, and provide tools to help with healing, growth, and happiness.

My Approach to Helping

I utilize a person-centered approach to determine the best therapeutic approach for you. I am trained in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to find more helpful thought patterns, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to explore mindfulness and other coping skills, and a wide variety of other approaches to fill in any gaps. The typical treatment plan involves spending a lot of time really getting to know each other and talk about your life, finding what's helpful for you, gently integrating some form of self-compassion and/or mindfulness, and finding thought processes that lead to wellness and stability in your life.

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a therapist because I naturally was a therapist in my previous line of work (emergency medical technician). I was there for those suffering around me automatically. I believe everyone has pain in their lives from time to time and needs someone who can truly listen without judgement. Being heard and validated is often all anyone truly needs.
