My goal is to support you and your teen identify and minimize self-limiting patterns that no longer work, while accessing and encouraging innate strengths and resilience. My approach is based on respect and compassion, while drawing on tools of mindfulness practices, family systems, adolescent development and other evidence-based practices. I am an experienced addictions counselor, and view substance use as only one aspect of an individual. With compassion and encouragement, I support my clients to restore the life balance they seek. A professional symphony musician, I also specialize in the management of performance and social anxiety with musicians, dancers, actors and in daily life.

I have assisted hundreds of adolescents through academic challenges, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, substance use, ADHD, traumatic experiences, social anxiety and divorce. While I specialize in working with adolescents, I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, with families, and with single and coupled parents navigating the challenges and rewards of parenting. I hold a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from Prescott College, with additional professional training in addiction therapy, EMDR and the treatment of trauma, and hold extensive experience in parent coaching. Prior to opening my private practice, I served as a lead wilderness therapist for Catherine Freer Wilderness Therapy Programs, and continue to work with adolescents and families returning home from residential treatment. In addition to my counseling practice, I am a masters degree graduate of the Juilliard School of Music and perform professionally as a percussionist and conductor.
