My Background
I started my work in the helping profession as a teen, when I served in my local church. It was as a young teen that I really desired to help others. After graduating from Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development, I began working in a residential group home. Then I pursued and completed my graduate degree at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa Idaho. I have been working as a mental health therapist ever since.
I consider my practice to be a partnership with each client and consider it an honor to be a part of the journey. I have experience with all age groups, cultures, individuals, parents, and families. I have experience working with all types of family dynamics, social economic classes and religious backgrounds.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have served all ages and genders, individuals, parenting, and family therapy. I have hours of trainings in many modalities such as CBT, DBT, CPS, CPP, EMDR, mindfulness, parenting, attachment, interpersonal skills, communication skills, and social skills. I have worked extensively with children, teens and families in crisis and in the foster care system. I also have personal experience with foster children, adoption and attachment challenges as I have been a foster parent of 16 children of which I adopted 3.
I am a practicing Christian and can incorporate the Christian faith into therapy at the client's request.
