My Approach to Helping

I don't want my clients to feel like they're at a doctor's office, let's take a breath and get to know one another. My approach to helping is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual. I use a person-centered framework that honors your lived experience and trusts that you are the expert on your own life. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy to help process and heal from past experiences that continue to impact the present. I believe in finding ways to support the nervous system with my clients to build greater resilience and peace. I also integrate Collaborative Problem Solving to strengthen interpersonal relationships, connect with adolescents, and support parents in navigating challenges. It takes courage to seek support and it is my passion to create a healing space where self compassion, inner strength, and insight can grow.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I identify as queer and hold values grounded in equity, compassion, and inclusion that inform my work as a therapist. I believe in approaches to care that prioritize healing, dignity, and community over punishment. I recognize how systems and social inequities can impact mental health and wellness. I am also vegan (but you don't have to be!) and value compassion toward people, animals, and the environment. My goal is to create an affirming, inclusive space where clients of different backgrounds and ages feel respected, supported, and able to show up as their full selves.
