My Ideal Client

I specialize in working with couples and polycules facing a variety of issues. I am comfortable working with conflict and I would love to be invited in to that argument you avoid having because it always turns out nasty. I've helped people let go of resentment, understand the impact of their childhood trauma, learn to communicate better, and find a way to stop fighting so much with the people they love the most. With accountability, love, and dedication, you can get through this. I can help.

My Approach to Helping

A core foundation of my approach is the belief that you are the expert on yourself. I will approach you with compassion, curiosity, and some expertise of my own, but healing and growth will ultimately come from within you and the relationships in your life. Counseling in my view is about coming to understand ourselves more wholly and with less judgment in order to live our lives with greater authenticity and love. I believe that every challenge is made more manageable when faced alongside someone else. It would be my honor to stand with you as you transform whatever is weighing you down into the steps leading to a better life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It is my belief that human beings are both wonderfully unique and mercifully similar to one another. We are connected to each other in our individuality through the common strands of what it means to be a person trying to live our best lives in a world full of uncertainty, pain, beauty, and love. My approach to counseling reflects the uniqueness of each person’s individual life story, sociocultural context, trauma, and inner resources, while also tapping into the wisdom of our shared human condition and the immense power of relationships and community. I strive to strike a balance between the uniqueness of self and the commonality of humankind through an organic, authentic approach that draws on evidence-based practices and tools while bearing in mind that any tool or idea only really works if it works for you.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • Collaborative Couple Therapy External link

I take a collaborative approach to couples therapy. To me, this means that while I have expertise in areas that pertain to relationships, you are the experts in your relationship. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to marital problems or formula for relational satisfaction. Let's work together to figure out the unique circumstances that are holding your relationship back from its full potential and collaborate to find a path towards fulfillment.

  • Couples Counseling External link

Chosen relationships are at the very heart of what makes life meaningful and can be a source of boundless joy. It is only natural for fights to break out, for old wounds to throb, and for resentment to build. I will commit myself to helping everyone involved operate in accordance with their values and truest feelings; with their highest Self. From that place of authenticity and strength, I believe that what can go right between you, will.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • Relationship / Marriage Issues External link

I have tailored my education specifically for working with couples and have a passion for helping people in love better express their feelings for one another. Chosen relationships are at the very heart of what makes life meaningful and can be a source of boundless joy. There is also tremendous stress and difficulty inherent in anything that holds such a valuable place. Conflict is normal, and can be done in a way that maintains (and even promotes!) authenticity, respect, and love.

  • Codependency External link

Perhaps you're worried about being overly insular in your relational unit, or that someone is feeling considerably anxious when a partner is away, or maybe you want your relationship to feel more capable of handling a wider spectrum of emotion? Whatever your concern about codependency is, I would love to work with you on building the insight and mutual understanding necessary for satisfying, sturdy, and liberating interdependence.
