Are you tired of feeling stuck in the never ending cycle between "Give Up" and "Try Harder"? Do you struggle with extending kindness and compassion towards yourself and others? I understand how nearly impossible it can feel to love yourself (and others!) when the burdens of shame, regret, sorrow, loneliness, and trauma weigh you down. In my work, I seek to validate your experiences, join you in the hard work of healing, and encourage you to see your strengths and resilience as a survivor.
Specialties
I mainly draw from Strengths Based counseling theories, with a strong focus on family of origin and attachment based patterns. I work under the larger umbrella of IFS to navigate many major mental health concerns, such as trauma and PTSD, shame, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, loneliness, and identity. I also incorporate faith related components within Christian counseling as is applicable to my client.
Specialties
Having acquired knowledge of trauma, its impact, and practical care interventions through formal training, I have great compassion for individuals bearing the weight of the accompanying shame, isolation, and pain that follows such experiences. You are not alone and you are not beyond repair. You may feel broken now, yet I believe we can work towards healing together!
Grief and Loss comes in many shapes and forms - sometimes it's the loss of a loved one that came too soon or even after many years of suffering; at other times it's the loss of identity, hope, relationship(s), peace, security, finances, a job, or a passion/dream. Your walk with grief and loss matters and is worthy of exploring. I believe it is during such times of sorrow, confusion, and insecurity that it is even more essential to seek out support.
