My Ideal Client

I'm passionate about working with adults of all ages and the LGBTQIA+ community. I often work with artists/creatives/entrepreneurs, neurodivergent individuals, untraditional life path takers, individuals in helping professions, and Veterans. I enjoy supporting people in increasing self-compassion, navigating life transitions, and exploring identity. I have experience supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD and trauma, grief and loss, ADHD, and OCD.

My Approach to Helping

I view therapy as a creative and collaborative process and intend to bring curiosity, authenticity, humor and warmth to the space. Together we can explore the experiences, contexts, and aspects of your identity that make up who you are and influence how you move through the world. We can learn approaches to assist you to self soothe, communicate more effectively in your relationships, and identify emotions and process experiences. I believe in identity-affirming care, cultural humility, social justice, ongoing learning, and I strive to create a nourishing therapeutic environment that fosters healing, connection, and transformation. I work from a strengths-based relational framework. I am guided by and draw upon a variety of approaches that I am trained in which include EMDR, Internal Family Systems Parts Work, Mindfulness and Stress Reduction Techniques, DBT Skills, Expressive Arts Techniques, and Somatic Approaches.

Why I Became a Therapist

My life experiences and ongoing healing journey brought me to this work as a therapist. I believe in humans' capacity for growth, learning, and change and I think we all need assistance along the way. As a therapist, it's my aim to help you clear the path and connect with your own inherent strengths and capacities. My goal is to help you explore your own inner landscape, tune into your own knowing, and to be a support alongside you as you walk your unique path. I provide Telehealth therapy to clients in the state of Oregon and in person walk and talk nature based therapy in the Portland Metro Area. I am currently able to accept private pay and sliding scale, however I am in the process of being paneled with several major insurance companies in Oregon.

Techniques I Use

Specialties

  • EMDR External link

I am trained in EMDR and find it a valuable approach to support work focused on the processing of trauma. I find EMDR most effective after we have taken time to learn skills that will support you through difficult emotions and have built a safe container within the therapeutic relationship.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) External link

I work from an IFS parts work perspective and find it a valuable way to get to know and understand you and the different parts of you that may show up in our work together and in your life experiences.

  • Mindfulness-based External link

I have background and experience in utilizing mindfulness based approaches. I enjoy guiding meditations, introducing mindfulness based skills and concepts, and supporting you in connection to the present moment.

Issues I Treat

Specialties

  • LGBTQ Issues External link

I strive to create a safe, connected, and affirming space.

  • PTSD External link

I work from a trauma informed perspective in my work and utilize EMDR and grounding techniques to support trauma processing.

  • Self-Esteem External link

I am passionate about supporting individuals in their efforts to increase self-compassion, work towards more positive self-talk, and in identifying anchoring practices that support wellbeing.
