My Background and Approach

I understand that having a relationship in one’s life that is free of judgement and infused with compassion is essential in a healing process. When we feel truly seen, heard, and received, parts of us that have gotten injured or shut down have an opportunity to arise, be tended to with kindness and transform. These parts no longer need to be annexed and a more integrated way of being can emerge. The heart of my work involves helping you listen deeply to yourself and trust your own experience. I meet you where you are and work collaboratively to attend to your individual needs. Together, we’ll invite curiosity and the body as guides for our work. I believe that the body can be a central guide in healing. When you attend to the body and have the courage to establish a trusting relationship with your body, the potential for a more sustaining and integrative healing can happen.

My Approach to Helping

My broad-based education has helped me engage innovative body-based and mindfulness practices that support well-being, body integration, and resiliency. I hold a Master’s degree in professional mental health counseling from Lewis and Clark College, am a Registered Somatic Movement Therapist, a long-time meditator and have advanced training in Somatic Experiencing Trauma Healing. For over twenty years I have supported people to listen more deeply to themselves, cultivate body awareness, and develop the inner resources and tools needed to trust their experience and live with more ease and authenticity. I offer counseling, movement education & therapy, and coaching services. My practice is open and inclusive. I embrace the Health at Every Size model and have a weight-neutral orientation.
